Sample Program Itinerary

(Original program given at American Legion National Headquarters)

Three NEC representatives and one eagle will provide a program consisting of the history of the bald eagle in America, from a national symbol to an endangered species. 

Program will consist of: 

  • Introduction and story of the education Eagle from the National Eagle Center 
  • Eagles as Raptors 
  • Vision 
  • Flight 
  • Hunting 
  • Nesting Habits 
  • Protection 
  • Population Numbers 
  • DDT in Egg shells 
  • Problems for eagles today - lead, collisions, habitat degradation 
  • Feather laws 
  • USFWS 
  • Upper Mississippi National Wildlife Refuge 
  • National symbol 
  • Questions and answers

As discussed, we will be onstage for the award ceremony, and be available for photo opportunities while at the event.
